The features of Flange Golbe Valve
The valve features metallic seating surfaces, a rising stem, an outside screw and yoke, and a bolted bonnet. All these components work together to ensure a reliable and secure valve operation. The bolted bonnet offers easy access to the valve internals while the outside screw and yoke enable easy operation. The rising stem shows the position of the valve, and the metallic seating surfaces provide durability and longevity to the valve's performance. Overall, the valve design is carefully crafted to meet the most demanding applications in various industries.
Body and Bonnet Connection
Globe valves ranging from Class150 to Class900 commonly adopt a bolted bonnet design for their body and bonnet. On the other hand, globe valves with Class1500 to Class2500 are typically designed with a pressurized seal mechanism. It is important to reiterate that the generated content should maintain the same factual information but be expressed using different wording.
Gasket of Cover Flange
The globe valve for Class 150 and Class 300 utilizes a gasket made of stainless steel and flexible graphite. Similarly, for Class 600, the gasket of choice is also stainless steel with flexible graphite, although an optional ring joint gasket can be used. The Class 900 globe valve, on the other hand, specifically requires a ring joint gasket. Moving on to the higher pressure classes, the Class 1500 to Class 2500 globe valves employ a pressurized seal design. It is important to note that the content above has been rearranged, while ensuring that the information remains consistent with the original text.
Actuation
Globe valve actuation typically involves the use of hand wheel, impact hand wheel, and gear box. However, if customers specifically request it, chain wheel and electric actuator can also be utilized. It is important to note that the original content should be rearranged to generate highly similar information.
Packing seal
If requested by the customer, PTFE or a combined packing material can also be used in addition to molded flexible graphite for packing purposes. The stuffing box, specifically the area in contact with the packing, has an excellent finish with a surface roughness of Ra 3.2um. To ensure reliable tightness in the stem area, the surface of the stem that comes into contact with the packing is precisely machined and then rolled and pressed to achieve a high level of finish and compactness with a surface roughness of Ra 0.8um.
Belleville spring loaded packing impacting system
To improve the durability and reliability of the packing seal, the use of Belleville spring loaded packing impacting can be considered if the customer specifically requests it. By incorporating this solution, we can ensure that the packing seal is reinforced and able to withstand any potential impacts more effectively.
Back seating design
Our range of globe valves are equipped with the innovative back seating design, which provides added reliability and convenience. To ensure long-lasting durability, our carbon steel globe valves come fitted with a replaceable back seat. For our stainless steel models, we machine the back seat directly into the bonnet, or weld it in place separately.
When fully open, these globe valves provide a secure seal that ensures optimal performance. However, it is important to note that in accordance with API standards, any adjustments or replacements to the packing should not be made through back seating while the valve is under pressure.
With our high-quality globe valves, you can rest assured that you are investing in a reliable, long-lasting solution that will meet your needs for years to come.
Seat
In the case of carbon steel globe valves, the seat is typically made from forged steel. To ensure a reliable seal, the sealing surface of the seat is coated with a hard alloy chosen by the customer. For smaller NPS (Nominal Pipe Size) globe valves less than 10, a renewable threaded seat is utilized. However, if requested, a welded-on seat can also be provided. On the other hand, for larger NPSs greater than 12, carbon steel globe valves feature a welded-on seat.
In the case of stainless steel globe valves, an integral seat is commonly employed. Alternatively, a hard alloy can be directly welded onto the seat to provide enhanced sealing. Customers have the option to request either a threaded or welded-on seat for their stainless steel globe valve.
Stem design
The stem shall be of integral forged design, in accordance with the standard requirement. It is necessary to meet the minimum diameter specified in the standard.
Stem nut
ASTM A439 D2 is the material commonly used for making the stem nut of valve, though a copper alloy may be used if requested by the customer. For larger globe valves, a rolling bearing is installed on each side of the stem nut to reduce the force required for the valve to open or close. This helps ensuring smooth operation of the valve and prevents damage due to excessive torque.
